Marketing & Publications

HIU’s Offices of Marketing and Publications represent the mission of Hope International University to its external constituencies. The Advancement team works to gain new resources to further the institution’s goals and the Marketing team develops outreach strategies to make HIU a relevant competitor in the marketplace.

What We Do...and Why

HIU’s Marketing and Publications offices exist to communicate institutional values to donors, churches, media, and other external audiences. This effort is done with dedication to the mission, integrity and consistency so that the university is represented accurately across the board.

The work of these offices is manifested in the following ways:

  • acquisition of resources and promotion of stewardship to the university
  • cultivation of relationships within targeted audience groups including the church
  • implementation of strategic programs
  • telling the University’s stories
  • connecting the HIU community including Alumni of the University
  • participation in civic engagement endeavors
  • establishing relations with local media influencers
  • engaging large communities through digital marketing techniques

The Marketing and Publications Offices offer the following services to the departments and offices of Hope International University:

  • Publications and Advertising
  • Editing and Writing
  • Graphic Design and HIU Logos
  • Website and Digital Communications
  • Social Media

Publications and Advertising

HIU’s Marketing & Publications department creates and produces print collateral and advertising containing messages that clearly represent the University’s brand identity and mission. The Public Relations office distributes these messages and pieces to various university constituent groups, target audiences, and media outlets. Together, these efforts broadcast and disseminate HIU’s unique story through clear, engaging printed materials and digital media.

Editing and Writing

Hope International University is committed to producing high-caliber publications (advertisements, brochures, posters, catalogs, magazines, web pages, and more) that are professional and representational of the university’s mission. The office seeks to present information in a way that is professional and appropriate for an academic institution. To do this, it encourages the use of the Editorial Style Guide as well as other industry standard guides.

Website and Digital Communications

The Marketing and Public Relations Director oversees the strategy, development, and ongoing maintenance of dyrh.g2thf.com, Hope International University’s official public website. This also includes other related digital communication and outreach such as e-newsletters, web-based announcements, online advertising endeavors, search engine optimization, and the online public master calendar.

The website is usually the first way our constituents interact with the university and has been a critical asset. Recently, HIU has significantly invested in the development and maintenance of an engaging, relevant, and user-friendly website. In this heavily based digital age, HIU is dedicated to producing internet communication that reflects its commitment to excellence.

Social Media

HIU recognizes that social media sites have emerged as both effective and increasingly important forms of communication for our constituents and the world at large. HIU believes these mediums can be great tools to inform and interact with its diverse constituents as well as foster community and increase HIU branding and promotion efforts. In order to utilize these new mediums effectively, HIU has developed a social media policy to guide faculty and staff operating official social media accounts that represent HIU’s colleges, departments, programs or offices.
